Dauphinette Debuts Fragrance, 369
Dauphinette calls themselves the “happiest brand on Earth.”
Today, outerwear brand Dauphinette launched its first fragrance, 369. The New York-based brand celebrated its debut at The New York EDITION, where hints of 369’s scent circulated the drink-filled room. Olivia Cheng, founder of Dauphinette, says 369 reflects an optimized version of herself and the brand. Her hopes for 369 are to leave a stamp on this stage in her life and to “trap her hopes of self-actualization inside of a tight glass bottle where they couldn't run away from her.”
369’s top notes are lemon, fig, and tomato leaf. The present heart notes include orchid milk and green tea, with Hinoki wood, Iso E Super, and musk base notes. Cheng says the overall smell resembles “prancing through the forest, levitating, and delicious skin contact.” The gender-neutral fragrance is now available at dauphinette.com for $130 for a 50ml bottle and $30 for a travel-size bottle.
Cheng founded Dauphinette in 2018, accentuating recycled and byproduct fur, leather, vintage, and sustainable elements. The outerwear and ready-to-wear brand has since evolved to include accessories and handbags. In addition to their West Village flagship store, Dauphinette can be seen in the Met Museum’s Costume Exhibition, In America, A Lexicon of Fashion. Dauphinette is rooted in the French word “Dauphin,” meaning the king’s eldest son and heir. Cheng added her twist with “-ette” to highlight femininity.
