Despite our lack of patriotism, we couldn't resist the 4th of July launch of A$AP Ferg’s collection in collaboration with Awake NY. The “UPTOWN II DOWNTOWN” collection, featuring oversized t-shirts with “FERG” and “Awake," cropped tops with “Lady” and “FERG” in front of an American flag logo, and a bandana — it was the go-to spot for the holiday’s “it” day function. The block party, which took over the Lower East Side outside of Awake’s flagship store on Orchard Street, was anything but low-key. With DJ sets by Yazmine Rosario, Angel & Dren, and Chris Ice, an open bar, food by Taste of Jamaica 876, a surprise appearance by Lil Yachty, and a street performancevby Ferg himself, it was nearly impossible to disperse the primarily inebriated crowd.

“Summertime in Harlem is about being jiggy and having fun,” A$AP Ferg says. “This collection is a tribute to my pops, D-Ferg. He was known in Harlem for his boutique store, Ferg Apparel, and bringing the community together. My Pops also threw legendary parties/cookouts, and I’m here to keep his legacy alive. Ferg forever.”
