No One Does It Like Elyanna

You just had to be there to feel the energy of the NYC show.

There aren’t many artists like Elyanna. The Palestinian-Chilean musician has mastered the art of putting on a show, all while singing better than a studio-recorded song. Dressed in all white, Elyanna took over Manhattan’s Irving Plaza on her sold-out North American tour. It was clear: the mic was on. She danced in traditional dances with backup dancers and hit notes that seemed impossible from our vocal cords — except she made it look easy with her effortlessness.

The crowd went wild the whole night, even for serene melodies, transcending the energy in the entire room. Palestinian flags and keffiyehs waved over the hundreds of heads as Elyanna sang in Arabic. She performed popular songs like “Sokkar,” “Ana Lahale,” and “Ghareeb Alay.” She also sang “Al Sham,” which recently released a music video symbolizing her roots and resonating with her audience.
