PinkPantheress Takes Y2K Reign

The bedroom pop sensation has reinvented the look and sound of the early 2000s in her new album, Heaven knows.

Heaven knows

British singer-songwriter and producer PinkPantheress brings nostalgia into bedroom pop in her sophomore album, Heaven knows. The 13-song album, which follows her debut album, to hell with it, redefines the sound of alternative pop music. Her Y2K-inspired look and sound genre bends with features including Afrobeats singer Rema, viral British rapper Central Cee, and alternative R&B singer Kelela.

Heaven knows dives deeper into the experimentation of PinkPantheress’ co-producing. She collaborated with notable producers like Cash Cobain, Mura Masa, BNYX, F1lthy, London on da Track, and more.

While her previous songs and projects are bubbly with a hint of emotions, Heaven knows exposes a more vulnerable side to the effervescent singer. Fans had high hopes for the album, and PinkPantheress exceeded their expectations. The upbeat, fast-tempo project gives listeners a glimpse of Y2K club beats combined with Gen Z components like autotune and rap features.

The highly-anticipated album includes singles “Boys a Liar Pt. 2” with Ice Spice, “Mosquito,” “Capable of love,” and “Nice to meet you” with Central Cee. Throughout Heaven knows, the house-heavy sound is accompanied by UK garage and acoustic elements.
