Since 2018, designer and entrepreneur Raven Tracy has dedicated her platform to uplifting how people feel when they wear fitted clothes, regardless of size, race, and gender. She aims for genuine inclusivity and representation — making every garment at Body by Raven Tracy movable, comfortable, and stylish. Sizes range from XXS to 4XL in zip-up hoodies, sweatpants, bikinis, leggings, and more.

This week, Tracy released the Body 2.0 collection and the Waffle and Striped Knit collection—many products in each collection have already sold out. Body 2.0 is a re-release of the classic sweatsuit that constantly sells out. This time around, Tracy created new colorways, including red and blue, olive and navy, brown and lavender, charcoal and mint, black and pink, and heather grey and red.

Tracy notes that this collection was inspired by nostalgia from her childhood. “I distinctly recall the allure of Juicy Couture tracksuits,” she says. “I aimed to infuse a modern twist into that aesthetic.”

The Waffle and Striped Knit collection comprises hoodies, boot-cut pants, and striped knit beanies and socks. Colorways include pink and brown, cream and pink, navy and brown, heather gray and maroon, periwinkle and yellow, orange and green, black and pink, and magenta and pink.

Jim Jones was a significant influence behind the Waffle and Striped Knit. “No, really. I used to love Dipset, and they always incorporated thermals into their outfits,” she says. “I made a modern twist on that, adding in the silicone and low-waisted pants to give it that Y2K aesthetic.”

When constructing new ideas for Body, Tracy puts functionality at the forefront. It’s all about how the wearer feels. She wants people to be able to wear the garments anywhere: a party, the grocery store, the gym, or on the couch. Each piece of clothing is cozy enough to dress down and chic enough to dress up.

“The pivotal aspect for me is ensuring the fit is just right. It must evoke a sense of confidence and comfort,” she says. “I like to approach it by considering the desires and feedback of my supporters/customers, integrating my own creative flair, whether it's through the addition of silicone accents or incorporating contrast stitching.”

Although most designs and techniques have remained the same due to high customer demand, Tracy always aims to make minor improvements to ensure the best quality in every garment. Body by Raven Tracy will always be better with each collection, whether it's a zipper or stitch improvement.

“I've adopted a deliberate approach, allowing the brand to organically progress alongside the growth of my supporters and customers,” she says. '“Throughout the years, I've made subtle adjustments to the fit and silhouettes while maintaining the core essence of the designs. For instance, transitioning from scrunch leg openings to boot cuts and upgrading pull-over hoodies with custom YKK zipper pulls.”

Despite almost every garment quickly selling out, Tracy works day in and day out to release collections as efficiently as possible. She often offers pre-orders and giveaways on social media for those who aren’t always able to access the clothes they want and love.

“The ultimate goal is for individuals to wear Body by Raven Tracy and embody a sense of empowerment,” Tracy says. “I envisioned the brand to resonate with the everyday woman yet instill in her the feeling of being exceptional. We should all embrace that essence and feel uniquely special.”
