On and Off the Runway at Anna Bolina FW24

Not only were the runway looks show-stopping jaw-droppers, but so were the attendees’ outfits.

There’s only one word to describe Anna Bolina. It starts with a C and ends with a TY. If you know, you know. This season, Bolina stepped even more out of her cage (and so did the models on the runway). Amidst a foggy concrete garage studio in Brooklyn, models strutted in Bolina’s continued motif of the iconic stripper heels. This time around, there were more refined, signature leather boots with her acclaimed logo replicating the “Parental Advisory” graphic seen on explicit albums.

Each model walked on the 360-degree runway, putting on a theatrical strut, showing off each piece, and holding onto a cage for even more effect. Although each look was different, they were cohesive enough to tell a story. Many pieces were oversized yet fitting simultaneously to contort with the body, with accent pieces underneath the statement pieces for functionality and a little extra detail. Materials like nylon, faux leather, faux fur, mesh, and even plastic are blended to execute asymmetrical yet geometric pieces.

Anna Bolina is known for her straight-to-the-point t-shirts, sweaters, and body-con dresses that read slogans like “Do whatever you want, no one gives a fuck” and “Who are you trying to impress?” However, her past few seasons have evolved into more intricate, sculptural pieces. The brand recently became synonymous with iconic artists like Playboi Carti and CLIP, as they consistently rocked the brand in videos. Now, the brand is taking the world of alt-kids by storm.
